I’m a Mechanical Engineer who wants to create products that make people’s lives better. I’m particularly interested in things that make the world a more accessible, inclusive, ethical, and sustainable place. When considering designs, I’m always conscious of the complete product and how the customer will experience it. I gravitate towards leadership roles within any project or team, and I relish opportunities to mentor new engineers.

Areas of Expertise

Architectural Layout of New Systems

Working within new projects, I succeed at laying out the basics of my system, working with other teams and leaders to understand the total package, the goals, and the tradeoffs. From there, I can continue to add detail and completeness myself or engage other resources to progress as a team..

3D and 2D CAD Modeling

I’m currently proficient in NX (including Simulation, Motion, Drafting, Teamcenter). I’ve previously been proficient in Solidworks and CATIA.

Cross Functional Collaboration and Presentation

For complex decision making, I have frequently collected data from diverse stakeholders, prepared concise visuals, and presented them to leaders and executives.

Structural Simulation

In order to generate new designs from scratch, I independently generate design volumes and run component level linear structural optimization in Hyperworks Optistruct or Inspire, using known loads or new hand calculated loads as required. I then translate those results into conceptual or detailed CAD models. The design is finally refined and validated with additional rounds of simulation.

Kinematics and Motion

I’m experienced with kinematic solvers in CAD packages, having used them to generate motion envelopes for cross functional teams, evaluate detailed clearances, and enabled others to route flexible lines.

My Collaboration Philosophy

I’m passionate about creating what’s best for the customer and the product. I do my best to speak with data, properly documented and clearly presented. When people collaborate this way remarkable things can happen.
